From a Farming Village to an Industrial City
The Kultur-Historisches Museum Grenchen tells you the history of industrialisation and its consequences using the Grenchen region as the example.
Interactive and modern
The modern and interactive permanent exhibition "From a Farming Village to an Industrial City" is dedicated to the history of industrialisation. Viewable over three floors, it focusses on the life and work of people in industry and on the impact of industrialisation on everyday life. The exhibition centres on the fifties, the "Golden Age" of the Grenchen watch industry.
A Museum for the Whole Family
The "Tick-Tack" alarm clock welcomes the children in the reception area. Equipped with a magnifying glass, the children (and adults) explore the exhibition while solving various tasks to solve: playing, dressing up, doing puzzles, handicrafts, guessing smells and much more.
Special Exhibitions
Special exhibitions are always related to the permanent exhibition. They are regularly renewed, thus offering museum visitors fresh insights into the past of the town and region of Grenchen.
How to Find us
The museum is located in the city centre of Grenchen, south of the Roman Catholic Church. It is a 10-minute walk from the railway station Grenchen Süd and 5 minutes from the railway station Grenchen Nord. Parking spaces are available at Postplatz, Postmarkt and on Lindenstrasse.

from 2 pm to 5 pm
